TN to consider exempting Kerala from curbs on construction material movement

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has assured his Keralam counterpart V D Satheesan that his government would consider exempting the state from restrictions on the movement of construction materials, including metal, to other states, the Keralam CMO said on Friday.

Satheesan had raised the issue during his meeting with Vijay on Thursday on the sidelines of the Southern Zonal Council meeting at Mahabalipuram, the CMO said in a statement here.

Satheesan sought a reconsideration of the restrictions, citing Keralam's special circumstances, it said.

The two chief ministers agreed to hold further discussions on the matter and take an appropriate decision soon, according to the statement.
