Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala's Vigilance Department will launch 'Project Zero--Vigilance Whistle', a youth-driven anti-corruption campaign, on Wednesday, with actor Nivin Pauly becoming the state's first "Vigilance Commando".

Home and Vigilance Minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the initiative along with the actor at the Loyola School auditorium here at 11 am, an official release said here on Tuesday.

As part of the programme, Nivin Pauly will administer an anti-corruption pledge to the youth after being named the first Vigilance Commando.

"Along with Operation Toofan, we are taking on a new mission—Project Zero," Chennitala said in a post on X.

He said this is a movement to blow the 'Vigilance Whistle' against corruption through public participation.

"Our youth can join Project Zero to eradicate corruption. I hope Kerala will embrace this social commitment mission just like Operation Toofan..." Chennithala said.

"As the first Vigilance Commando, dear Nivin Pauly will blow the Vigilance Whistle tomorrow at Loyola School, Thiruvananthapuram. Together, let's stop corruption!" the Minister said.

The release said Health and Devaswom Minister K Muralidharan will preside over the function, while Kazhakkoottam MLA V Muralidharan will deliver the keynote address.

Governor's Secretary Dr K Vasuki IAS will attend as the chief guest.

Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Director and DGP Manoj Abraham IPS will deliver the introductory address. Senior police officers and representatives of Loyola institutions will also attend the event.

Chennithala said the main objective of Project Zero was to build "a transparent and corruption-free Kerala" with the active participation of young people.

"As part of this, youth are being mobilised as 'Vigilance Commandos' to fight corruption, and workshops are also being organised for Internal Vigilance Officers," he said.

The minister said the Vigilance Manual had also been revised to strengthen the fight against corruption.

"The official details of those providing information will be kept strictly confidential. I appeal to the people to actively participate in this socially responsible mission led by the youth," Chennithala said.
