Colombo | India declared their first innings at 503 for 9 after Dhruv Jurel struck his century on the second day of the second Test against Sri Lanka here on Monday.

Jurel underlined his credentials as a specialist Test batter with a 177-ball 115, his second hundred, studded with nine fours and two sixes, before he was out in the post-tea session.

India faced 138 overs in all.

India were 475 for 8 when umpires took early tea due to heavy downpour.

In the post lunch session, India lost the wickets of Rishabh Pant (63) and Manav Suthar (18). Pant and Jurel had added 112 invaluable runs for the seventh wicket.
