Kozhikode (Keralam) | RMP MLA K K Rema on Sunday sought to know whether the CPI(M) has the "political honesty" to admit the "unrectifiable mistake" of the murder of her husband, as the party holds an extended state committee meeting to review its assembly election defeat and take corrective measures here.
T P Chandrasekharan, a former CPI(M) leader, had left the party and formed the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP).
He was hacked to death by CPI(M) supporters while returning home on his motorcycle in 2012.
Following his death, Rema entered politics and won the assembly election from Vadakara constituency with the support of the UDF.
Rema's Facebook post came as the CPI(M) began a three-day extended state committee meeting in Kozhikode to review the election results and discuss corrective measures.
In the post, Rema posed the question to CPI(M) leaders attending the meeting, which is also reviewing the party's political and organisational mistakes.
She said the meeting is being held after "much fanfare" to correct the "hundreds of political and organisational mistakes" committed by the CPI(M) leadership.
"Do you have the political honesty to at least now admit before the people of Keralam the unrectifiable mistake of the brutal murder of T P Chandrasekharan?" she asked.
She described Chandrasekharan as a "courageous communist", who was hacked to death in Kozhikode district for pointing an uncompromising finger at the leadership's mistakes.
Rema alleged that CPI(M) leaders had conspired to kill him for supporting the political struggle waged by V S Achuthanandan and MN Vijayan, both within and outside the party, against the leadership's corruption and betrayal.
