Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) | Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday accused the BJP of having plotted to cause violence in Tamil Nadu, like what happened in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur and asserted that it was outmanoeuvred.
Addressing a DMK rally here for the upcoming Assembly polls, Stalin, the president of the ruling DMK, asserted that Tamil Nadu had no caste riots, communal violence seen in BJP-ruled states, mob violence seen in UP, or continued violence in Manipur.
However, the BJP schemed to create such a scenario in Tamil Nadu, and his party thwarted it, the chief minister said.
He assured women that they would be provided with an Rs 8,000 coupon to purchase home appliances of their choice from shops they choose in their respective areas, if DMK comes back to power in the state.
He said the monthly assistance for women will be doubled to Rs 2,000 per month and similarly, the assistance for college-going students --to pursue higher education--- will be increased to Rs 1,500 per month from Rs 1,000 per month.
