Jaipur | UPSC civil services exam 2025 topper Anuj Agnihotri said he is in awe and still processing his achievement, attributing the success to his family -- his constant support and "biggest source of inspiration".

As soon as the news broke, relatives and well-wishers gathered at Anuj Agnihotri's residence in Rawatbhata in Chittorgarh district to congratulate him. Heartfelt emotions and celebration erupted at the Agnihotri household as young Anuj -- an MBBS graduate from AIIMS Jodhpur -- emerged topper in the Civil Services Examination-2025 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma extended heartfelt congratulations to Anuj.

"I am extremely happy at this achievement. It's an incredible feeling; still taking time to process this success," said the topper, lost for words as he tried to articulate his emotions.

He said the constant support from his family has been his biggest source of inspiration.

"They prioritised me and my efforts, and ensured that I focused on the exam. I dedicate this achievement to my family," he said.

Anuj said he has always looked ahead, taking lessons from past attempts.

He said it was his third attempt at clearing the coveted civil services exam, and the result was a culmination of his hard work and determination.

Anuj said he was allotted another service on his first attempt, but wanted to strive on and secure a better position.

His father K B Agnihotri, a supervisor at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, said the success is the result of Anuj's hard work, asserting that his son had been excellent in his studies from the very beginning.

Anuj completed school education in Rawatbhata and then moved to Jodhpur to pursue MBBS, and earned the medical degree in 2023.

Anuj's uncle, Mahesh Agnihotri, said after his MBBS studies, the topper shifted his focus entirely on UPSC preparation.

"Anuj has always been sharp and sincere. For his UPSC preparation, he confined himself to a single room. He was away from social media and other distractions. His sole focus was on the civil services preparations," he told PTI.

"In our family, we have doctors and engineers, but Anuj is the first to be selected for civil services," he said.

The family, originally from Kota, resides in Rawatbhata due to Agnihotri's occupation at the atomic power plant. Anuj's older brother Anshul works in Hyderabad after completing B Tech, while his mother is a home-maker.

Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, who represents Kota-Bundi Lok Sabha constituency, wrote on X, "Heartfelt congratulations to all the successful candidates of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. A special congratulations to Dr Anuj Agnihotri, a talented youth from Rajasthan, for securing the first position. I wish him a bright future ahead. His success will undoubtedly inspire crores of youth across the state and the country," Birla said.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma congratulated Anuj for his achievement. "Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Anuj Agnihotri, who has brought honor to Rajasthan by securing the first position in the UPSC Civil Services Exam-2025," he wrote on X.

"This exceptional achievement will inspire lakhs of youth in the state. I also extend my best wishes to all other successful candidates. I am confident that all of you will serve the nation with unwavering dedication," the chief minister said.
