Senor BJP leaders attend theatrical presentation of Syama Prasad Mookerjee's life
New Delhi | Several top BJP leaders, including its national president J P Nadda, attended the staging of a play based on the life of Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee that was hosted by the party's Delhi unit at Kamani auditorium on Tuesday.
Besides Nadda, the BJP's Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta were among the audience of the play 'Rashtravaad ka Aadipurush' staged by National School of Drama and Sri Ram Kala Kendra students.
A team of 75 performers, including 58 artistes from the National School of Drama and Shriram Kala Kendra, along with a lead director and 16 technical staff, played a crucial role in this production, Sachdeva said.
Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta, Delhi ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, BJP MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Bansuri Swaraj and other senior party leaders also watched the play.
Sachdeva stated that the aim of the play was to present Syama Prasad Mookerjee's life, his vision of nationalism, education, and political career in straightforward and understandable language, for the people.
CM Gupta said Syama Prasad Mookerjee's nationalist ideology and his "supreme sacrifice" to "integrate" Kashmir with India will continue to inspire the people of India for generations to come.
