PT Usha assaulted at protest site (Video)

NEW DELHI: International Olympic Association chief and Rajya Sabha member PT Usha, who heads the International Olympic Committee, appears to have been assaulted after she met women boxers protesting against alleged sexual harassment. She was attacked by a man who came to the site in support of the protestors. He is suspected to be an ex-serviceman.
Usha had drawn flak earlier for criticising the protesting wrestlers, saying they should have gone to IOA and not sit on protest. She had termed the protest as indiscipline tarnishing the image of the country.

Earlier, when Usha arrived to the protest site at Jantar Mantar here, a mob heckled her and stopped her vehicle as a mark of protest. She was quickly moved safely by officials. She held discussions with the protesters, but refused to speak to the media.
According to the information, Usha rushed away from the spot when she realised there was an assault attempt from behind. She is suspected to have been hit on the neck. This made her keep  away from the media.
