Srinagar/Jammu | Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister on Wednesday paid tributes to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack on the first anniversary of the dastardly attack.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh also remembered the 26 victims - 25 tourists and a local ponywallah - who were gunned down by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists at Baisaran meadows on April 22 last year.
LG Sinha said the terror attack will neither be forgotten nor forgiven.
"We will not forget. We will not forgive. This is our solemn vow. India stands unified against terrorism. We pledge unwavering commitment and resolute determination to eradicate terrorism from the soil of Jammu Kashmir," Sinha said in his message on the first anniversary of the attack.
"Humble tributes to the innocent souls who lost their lives in the gruesome terror attack in Pahalgam on this day in 2025. Their memory endures indelibly in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with their families," the LG added.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the people of Jammu and Kashmir remain united against terror and resolute in their desire to rid the region of suffering and innocent deaths.
"One year on, we remain united against terror & against violence. We remain resolute in our desire to rid J&K of suffering & innocent deaths. We remain committed to doing everything to ensure it never happens again," Abdullah said in a post on X.
"We also remain in eternal solidarity with the families who lost their loved ones a year ago in that cowardly attack. May the souls of the victims of the terror attack rest in peace," he added.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, in a post on X, said, "Being connected to the sacred land of Jammu and Kashmir, this pain is deeply personal to me." Singh said while the nation has witnessed immense pain, it has also seen "indomitable courage and resilience" in the face of adversity.
Reaffirming the country's resolve against terrorism, he said, "India will never bow before any form of terror. These cowardly acts of violence will never succeed."
