Himanshu Rai reappointed as director of IIM Indore

Indore | The Board of Governors (BoG) of the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has announced the reappointment of Prof. Himanshu Rai as the Director of the institute for another five-year term. The Chairman of BoG, Mr. M M Murugappan, expressed confidence in Prof. Rai's exceptional leadership and contributions, which have elevated the institute's stature and solidified its position as a leading academic institution.

With this reappointment, Prof. Himanshu Rai's tenure will continue until December 31, 2028. Mr. Murugappan emphasized the transformative leadership of Prof. Rai, which has inspired generations of future leaders and earned IIM Indore prestigious international accreditations, including AMBA, AACSB, and EQUIS, making it a "Triple Crown" accredited institution.

In his response, Prof. Rai expressed gratitude to the Board of Governors, the Ministry of Education, faculty, staff, and students for their unwavering support and trust. He articulated his vision of leading IIM Indore to new horizons through innovative initiatives and fostering an inclusive learning environment. Prof. Rai aims to nurture exceptional leaders and responsible global citizens through impactful programs and strategic global collaborations.

During his previous tenure, Prof. Rai introduced ANVESHAN, the Centre of Excellence for training political leaders in urban sanitation and waste management. He also spearheaded environmental sustainability initiatives and contributed to societal well-being, including providing free leadership programs to frontline doctors during the COVID-19 lockdown.

As Prof. Himanshu Rai embarks on another term as Director, IIM Indore looks forward to further growth and development under his visionary leadership, continuing its legacy of excellence in management education and positive societal impact.
