Itanagar | Himalayan University (HU) marked a momentous occasion on September 23, 2023, as it hosted its 5th convocation at the picturesque Jullang Campus in Itanagar. The event was graced by a constellation of esteemed guests and dignitaries, adding to the grandeur of the ceremony.
Swami Kripakarananda Maharaj Ji, renowned spiritual leader, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while the guest of honor was none other than Prof.
Narendranath S, Director of NERIST, Itanagar, A.P. The convocation also welcomed special guest Dr. A.K. Mishra, Deputy Director of Higher Education, along with Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran, the Pro Vice Chancellor of HU, and Mr. Dileep Jain, Joint Registrar of HU. Distinguished guests representing various prestigious organizations, including CSIR-NEIST, GB-Pant-NIHE, ZSI, RARI, and Shri Tani Loffa, the Local Chairman of HU, and SP City Rohit Ji, added to the honor of the occasion.
The proceedings commenced with the Vice Chancellor of Himalayan University declaring the convocation open. This was followed by a symbolic lighting of the lamp by several luminaries, including Prof.

During his address, the Vice Chancellor of Himalayan University extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and dignitaries, while also presenting the annual report of the university. He took the opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the remarkable cooperation extended by both the teaching faculty and non-teaching staff, highlighting their pivotal role in transforming the delivery of education to the students.
A significant moment in the convocation was when the HU Vice Chancellor administered the oath to the awardee students before conferring degrees and medals. In this year's convocation, a total of 968 degrees and diplomas were bestowed upon students hailing from diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses across various disciplines.
Prof. Narendranath S, the Director of NERIST, shared invaluable insights into future strategies for the students. He encouraged them to aspire to qualify for national-level tests such as NET, GATE, SET, UPSC, and emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and setting achievable targets for the future.
