Highlights of CBSE classes 10, 12 board exam results

There were several firsts in the class 10 and 12 board exams conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) this year. Here are the highlights:

New Delhi | There were several firsts in the class 10 and 12 board exams conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) this year. Here are the highlights:

* CBSE became the only board to conduct examinations for 200 subjects in India and 26 countries abroad

* Biggest exam on a single day: Class 10 Science, Maths and Social Sciences were opted for by more than 22.62 lakh students each. On all three days, CBSE conducted the exam for these students at 7,612 examination centres in 94,729 rooms with help from 1.88 lakh assistant superintendents In addition, on the day of the Maths and the Social Sciences exams for Class 10, the board also conducted Class 12 exams for two subjects on each day

* For the first time, CBSE conducted examinations of 155 government schools in Ladakh. It set up 42 examination centres for Class 10 and 33 for Class 12

* Examinations of 124 Vidhya Jyoti Schools of Tripura were conducted for the first time.

* CBSE gave several relaxations to students suffering from Type-2 diabetes in the examinations. They were allowed the latest equipment to monitor their sugar levels regularly, in addition to other facilities

* Evaluation days were reduced from 12 to about nine by setting up more evaluation centres. Because of this, even though the number of students and answer sheets have increased manyfold from 2023, evaluation was done in the same time as last year

* As in the schools affiliated to CBSE, maximum teachers are women. Hence, to take care of their wellbeing, no evaluation was done on Sunday and teachers were given an off day

* In Class 10, examinations of four new subjects were conducted -- Kokborok, Electronics and Hardware, Foundation Skill for Science, and Design Thinking and Innovation

* In Class 12, examinations of five new subjects were conducted -- Kokborok, Physical Activity Trainer, Land Transportation Associate, Electronics and Hardware, and Design Thinking and Innovation.
