Bengaluru | Flipkart is among the top 5 companies in India's Best Companies to Work For 2026 ranking by Great Place To Work®, alongside Hilton, Cisco Systems India, Synchrony International Services and Intercontinental Hotels Group.
Topping the list is hospitality major Hilton, followed by IT major Cisco Systems India at No.2. Synchrony International Services, the India arm of financial services major Synchrony, is ranked third, while Intercontinental Hotels Group is at No.4. Bengaluru-based Flipkart Group rounded out the top 5 at No.5, according to the latest list.
The list ranks 100 best employers based primarily on two criteria: the quality of employee experience through an anonymous feedback survey from employees, and a Culture Audit that evaluates leadership strength.
"Flipkart is a part of the Flipkart Group - one of India's leading digital commerce entities. Together with group companies and owned brands such as Myntra, Cleartrip, Flipkart Wholesale, super.money and more, the company and its employees find their purpose in empowering every Indian's dream by delivering value through innovation in technology and commerce," the publishers said.
"Flipkart is a place where employees come to maximize for themselves, our customers, partners, communities and the world at large," the citation said.
The ranking reflects Flipkart's sustained investment in creating a people-first workplace through structured capability building, leadership development, internal mobility and access to high-impact assignments. The company said its performance-driven culture encourages employees to take ownership, experiment and continuously build new capabilities by moving across functions and business units.
Complementing its talent strategy is a strong focus on employee well-being and inclusive benefits. Flipkart said it has built a support ecosystem that evolves with employees' personal and professional needs, offering inclusive parental leave, gender-neutral policies, a dedicated Employee Resource Group (ERG) for parents, a Family Assistance Programme, flexible health and wellness benefits, and support initiatives for women leaders and employees returning from maternity leave.
"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Flipkart for securing a place among the Top 5 of India's Best Companies to Work For 2026. Flipkart stands out as a powerful example of what sustained commitment to culture can truly achieve. Over the past three years, their remarkable journey from Rank 58 to Rank 5 reflects far more than upward movement. It reflects a deeply intentional and consistent focus on strengthening the employee experience at scale," said Adishva Doshi, Director – Retail & Strategic Partnerships, Great Place To Work.
As employees increasingly seek non-linear career paths, Flipkart said its talent model supports seamless onboarding, structured learning and career progression through internal mobility, enabling employees to move across roles, build new capabilities and take on broader responsibilities within the organisation.
"At Flipkart, our culture is centered on ensuring that impactful careers and professional growth go hand in hand with employee well-being," said Seema Nair, Chief Human Resources Officer, Flipkart. We have built an environment where career development is driven by ownership, merit, and access to diverse, high-impact roles across the organisation. We believe that by investing in continuous learning, mentorship, recognition and robust support systems that cater to different life stages, we enable our people to grow alongside the company and build meaningful, long-term careers with us." Employees said the company's emphasis on internal mobility and ownership has enabled them to pursue diverse career opportunities while expanding their responsibilities.
"What highlights my journey at Flipkart is the freedom to continuously explore diverse career paths under one roof," said Ishita Bhatia, Senior Director – Fashion, Flipkart. "I have celebrated major personal milestones here, from getting married to raising my kids, all while taking on diverse, high-impact roles. This culture of internal mobility ensures that employees can always find new, meaningful challenges and grow continuously at different stages of life." Prabhu Balasrinivasan, Vice President, Commercials, said exposure to strategic business priorities has been central to his career growth at the company. "The most rewarding aspect of my journey at Flipkart has been the opportunity to drive strategic business priorities that expand your scope and perspective.
It's a supportive, high-ownership environment where the organisation's growth translates into meaningful long-term career development for its teams, making it a great place to truly learn and grow." To foster innovation and continuous learning, Flipkart highlighted initiatives including internal hackathons, patent programmes, business innovation platforms, leadership development programmes, functional learning academies and large-scale access to online learning, enabling employees to transform ideas into scalable solutions while advancing their careers.
