Bank of Baroda has recently announced a hiring recruitment drive, with plans to bring on board 2,482 Local Bank Officers (Junior Management Grade/Scale-I) across 20 States and Union Territories, including Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Odisha. The recruitment drive signals a strategic focus on local talent, strengthening the bank’s presence and connect across markets. The officers selected through this drive will serve in the state they applied from for the first 12 years of their career, or until they are promoted to SMGS-IV, whichever comes first.
The focus is to create local talent to build a career in banking, while serving their respective states for a significant period of time, aligning Bank’s growth with regional development prior. Bank of Baroda is building a cadre of bankers who are fluent in the local language, familiar with regional customs, and attuned to the specific economic rhythms of the markets they serve. For customers, that should translate into faster trust, better service, and banking that feels less transactional and more local. For the Bank, it strengthens grassroots presence at a scale few PSU banks have attempted this explicitly.
