Mumbai | Maharashtra Housing Minister Atul Save will inaugurate the Maharashtra Chapter of the Indo-Gulf & Middle East Chamber of Commerce (INMECC) on Wednesday, February 21 at 7 pm at the Inter Continental Hotel, Marine lines. Former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Secretary and Government of India Capacity Commission member Praveen Pardesi will be the chief guest and Satish Kumar, Western India Regional Director, Corporate Ministry Office will be the special guest. Indo Gulf & Middle East Chamber of Commerce (INMECC) is an initiative of professionals and business leaders of India and Middle East countries to create a dedicated platform to connect and promote economic, industrial, commercial and cultural activities in India and the Middle East region.

INMECC will act as a catalyst in the region to support community growth, identify and effectively utilize opportunities for the benefit of the regions involved, establish potential networks, maintain supportive relationships, resolve issues and disputes through mediation, and preserve ethics. Coordinating the commercial interest of the members with various government agencies, liaising for national interests and establishing strong linkages are its main objectives. The promoters and founder directors of this chamber are prominent business and professional personalities from different parts of India and Middle East countries. The Chamber will be dedicated to creating a best-in-class community with a strong network in the region. INMECC has chapters in UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Kerala, Maharashtra, New Delhi and Tamil Nadu.

The operations of INMECC begun in 2022 and it was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat K. Karat on Mar 4, 2022 in Dubai. Sharjah Free Zone (SAIF Zone, Hamria Free Zone) Director General Dr. Saud Mazrui, writer and columnist Shri Chetan Bhagat and Kerala Industries Minister P. Rajeev were the chief guests. The Kerala Chapter of INMECC was inaugurated on Dec 18, 2022 by the Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muralidharan at the Taj Hotel, Kochi. Gulfar Group Managing Director Dr. Muhammad Ali was the chief guest.

INMECC and Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industries signed a memorandum of understanding to expand business between the two countries. Special discussions were also held with representatives of INMECC, when the Minister of Industry of Oman visited Mumbai.

Maharashtra Chapter Secretary A.N. Shaji informed that many people from India and abroad will participate in the function.
