Malappuram (Kerala) | Another case was registered after a promotional poster depicting Lord Krishna alongside 'kuzhi mandi', an Arabian non-vegetarian dish, was allegedly made for two restaurants at Kottakkal here, officials said on Monday.

The case was registered by Kottakkal police against unknown persons after the poster, in the name of Arabian Majlis and Raydhan restaurants at Parambilangadi in Kottakkal, was circulated on social media platforms.

Police said the poster featured Lord Sree Krishna along with 'kuzhi mandi' as part of Vishu wishes.

Officials said the restaurant owners would be summoned for questioning, and a probe is underway to identify who created the poster.

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by a Kottakkal native under Section 192 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause a riot) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Earlier, two similar cases were registered at Cherthala, and Mankadapolice stations, and restaurant owners were arrested.

Following the incident at Cherthala in Alappuzha, another poster showing a Muslim man eating pork in front of a mosque surfaced on social media, in connection with which a separate case was registered.
