Thiruvananthapuram: Star Health and Allied Insurance has contributed Rs. 50 lakhs to the Kerala Chief Minister's Relief Fund to aid those impacted by the recent landslide in Wayanad. This donation was handed over by Anand Roy, the Managing Director and CEO of Star Health Insurance, to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during a meeting held on August 22, 2024.

In addition to the financial aid, the company has initiated several support measures in the Wayanad region, including the establishment of 24/7 helplines, a special claims desk at the district level, and a streamlined electronic claims process. These efforts aim to ensure quick and empathetic handling of claims, with most pre-authorizations granted within an hour.

The company has also introduced special relaxations for claims related to the disaster, including preliminary authorization of claim amounts and cashless treatment options at identified private hospitals in the area, even if they are not part of the Star Health Insurance network. Senior medical professionals have been deployed to provide specialist guidance, and help desks have been set up in key locations to assist the affected individuals and families.
