

Thiruvananthapuram | Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday condoled the demise of veteran Tamil filmmaker, actor and screenplay writer K Bhagyaraj, describing him as an exceptional talent who left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
In a condolence message, Vijayan said Bhagyaraj carved out a unique place in the film industry through his distinctive storytelling and memorable performances.
He said the filmmaker won the hearts of family audiences with films rooted in rural life, marked by natural humour and engaging narratives. Apart from cinema, Bhagyaraj also proved his talent in literature, he added.
Vijayan said Bhagyaraj was admired not only by Tamil audiences but also by film lovers in Kerala through his acclaimed works.
"The demise of Bhagyaraj is an irreparable loss to the film industry and the cultural sphere," he said, extending his condolences to the bereaved family, friends and admirers of the veteran filmmaker.
Bhagyaraj, 73, died in Chennai on Saturday following a cardiac arrest.
