Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Saturday cautioned public against the menace of digital scams and online loan apps, saying that they are a threat to the social system.
Sivankutty said that the Malayalam film 'Patriot', starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead, gives a clear understanding of the dangers of such cybercrimes.
"While technology brings the world to our fingertips, such films can give the society a clear understanding of the great dangers lurking on the other side," he added.
"Digital mafias that exploit the helplessness of the poor are a threat to our social system itself. This film has been able to expose such criminal networks that destroy the peace of families," the minister said in a Facebook post after watching the film, which was released on Friday.
He said that the film is a support to the cybersecurity awareness that the Departments of Public Education and Labour, both headed by him, are promoting.
"This is something that the youth and students should especially watch. My heartfelt congratulations to the team behind this for presenting a serious issue on a large canvas and without compromise," he said in his post.
