

Thiruvananthapuram | The Kerala government has reconstituted the State Planning Board, appointing former Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekhar as its vice chairperson, with Chief Minister V D Satheesan heading the panel.
The order, issued by the Planning and Economic Affairs Department, said the board has been reconstituted following the formation of the new government, which assumed office on May 18 this year.
The other members are IT Minister P K Kunhalikutty, Electricity Minister Sunny Joseph, Water Resources Minister Mons Joseph, Forest Minister Shibu Baby John, and Transport Minister C P John.
As per the order, the State Planning Board assists the government in formulating development plans based on a scientific assessment of the state's resources and growth priorities. It is also entrusted with preparing the state's annual Comprehensive Economic Review.
The board's tenure is co-terminus with that of the ruling government, while the chief minister serves as its chairperson, the order added
