Thiruvananthapuram | The Kerala government has decided to set up a Special Task Force to ensure faster investigation of dowry harassment and domestic violence cases, with the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Intelligence leading the initiative.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has issued the order after reviewing recommendations submitted by the Department of Women and Child Development and the State Police Chief, officials said here on Wednesday.

The move is aimed at ensuring timely action on complaints and securing justice for women facing dowry-related and domestic violence.

The Special Task Force will include representatives from the District Vigilance Committee, District Women Cell, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Legal Services Authority, the district office of the Department of Women and Child Development, and one woman representative, they said.
