CIAL now boasts parking facilities accommodating up to 2800 vehicles near both the international and domestic terminals, with entry and parking operations fully transitioning to the FASTag and digital system.
The current average time taken by vehicles at entry and exit gates is two minutes. However, the implementation of the "Smart Parking" system is poised to significantly reduce this time to a mere eight seconds. This innovative approach includes a navigation system and the option for pre-booking parking slots, ensuring a hassle-free and expeditious parking process.
Beginning December 1, taxis will be permitted to park within the airport premises for a nominal fee, accompanied by the introduction of entry fees for all taxis.
The introduction of cutting-edge technology includes a Parking Management System (PMS) to optimize efficiency, a Parking Guidance System (PGS) to facilitate smooth movement and parking at entrances and car ports, and a Parking Slot Counting System to simplify the parking process by providing real-time information on space availability in each parking zone. FASTag counters, akin to those at toll gates on national highways, will enable seamless cash transactions, while Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will accurately record the entry time of each vehicle.
Passengers can take advantage of the convenience offered by self-payment options at automatic "pay-on-foot stations" for their parking fees. Additionally, the SIAL mobile application allows passengers to pre-book parking slots, contributing to an overall streamlined experience.
