Thiruvananthapuram | Keralam BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Wednesday said that the Railways have extended the service of the Dhanbad–Alappuzha Express to Thiruvananthapuram.

Chandrasekhar, in an 'X' post, claimed that it was one of the key decisions taken during his recent meeting with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

He thanked Vaishnaw and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritising the infrastructure needs of Keralam.

"Improving rail links is an important part of building a well-connected #VikasitaThiruvananthapuram," he added.

He further said that extending the Dhanbad–Alappuzha Express to Thiruvananthapuram results in connecting the state capital more directly to key industrial and commercial hubs in eastern India.

It will also give passengers a more convenient journey between Keralam and the East, he added.
