Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala BJP chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Thursday alleged that the hard work of students preparing for competitive examinations "counts for nothing" under Congress or CPI(M)-led governments, accusing both parties of filling government posts through backdoor appointments.
In posts on Facebook and X, Chandrasekhar alleged that the Congress and the CPI(M) treated government jobs as "family property".
He claimed that in Karnataka, the daughter of a former chairperson of the Karnataka Public Service Commission had submitted a fake income certificate to secure a government job under the reserved category.
"The court called it daylight fraud and said a poor student's opportunity was stolen. This is repeated wherever the Congress is in power, including in Kerala," alleged Chandrasekhar, the MLA from Nemom constituency.
He claimed that deserving PSC rank holders in Kerala were continuing their protest outside the Secretariat, demanding appointments they had earned on merit.
"They studied hard. Their parents sacrificed everything to support their dreams. Yet they continue to wait while the Congress and the CPI(M) hand over permanent jobs through backdoor appointments to their relatives and party workers," he alleged.
"Whether in Karnataka or Kerala, the Congress-CPI(M) duo treats government jobs as private family property. Every fake certificate and every backdoor appointment steals the dream of a hardworking youth in Kerala," he added.
Chandrasekhar said the BJP would continue to stand with every young Malayali and every young Indian, asserting that they deserved a future built on fairness, merit and hard work alone.
