College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram (CET) excels in BTech Result

B Tech result declaration was completed in record speed along with eighth semester exams and evaluation of sixth and seventh semesters’ supplementary exams.

Thiruvananthapuram |  College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram (CET) has achieved top results in B.Tech examination of  Kerala Technical University (KTU), with 87.06% pass in B.Tech exam.

CET has also become the pride of the capital with many other achievements. Out of the 28,059 students, who appeared for the exam in 141 engineering colleges under KTU, 15,601 passed. At the same time 572 students passed out of 657 students appeared from the CET. Also, CET is ranked first in all four categories of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Industrial Engineering and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation.

Seven of the top ten ranks in electrical, four out of ten in mechanical, two out of ten in electronics and communications and all the ranks in industrial engineering were obtained by CET. Along with this, the college also got top nine rank out of ten in Applied Electronics. Thiruvananthapuram CET (99) had the highest number of BTech minors in the first batch after the implementation of offering a minor degree in another subject along with BTech.

Also, Thiruvananthapuram CET (66) stood second among 466 candidates who obtained BTech Honors with a grade above 8.5 and obtained 20 additional credits. While 123 people from KTU managed to get honors and minors together, CET is ahead with 32. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University 5th batch B Tech exam pass percentage is 55.6%.

The following are the pass percentages of other courses,

53.45 % for third architecture (B. Arch) batch, 82.54% second bachelor of hotel management and catering technology (BHMCT) batch, and 52.63 % for bachelor of design (B Des) batch.

 The declaration of B Tech result was completed in record speed along with eighth semester exams and evaluation of sixth and seventh semester supplementary exams. The pass percentage is 73.85 per cent for government colleges, 78.62 per cent for aided colleges, 59.55 per cent for government regulated self-help colleges and 48.3 per cent for private self-help colleges.

Industrial Engineering has the highest pass percentage: 84.84 percent. In advanced courses such as biomedical engineering, robotics and automation, mechatronics, naval architecture and shipbuilding, the pass percentage is 67.08, 58.41, 46.15 and 36.38 respectively.
