Kochi: In a stunning display of innovation and excellence, the Coir Board has once again emerged triumphant, securing the prestigious Gold Medal at the Government of India International Trade Fair's Best Exhibitor Awards 2023. The announcement, made on the last day of the event during an award ceremony organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), marked a significant achievement for the Coir Board, especially after clinching the Silver Medal in the previous year.
What makes this victory even more noteworthy is the unprecedented global participation, with numerous countries making their debut on the international stage at the event hosted in India. The Gold Medal was presented to the Coir Board by Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola, the Chairman and Managing Director of ITPO, acknowledging the organization's outstanding contributions to the coir industry.
In a bid to showcase its commitment to innovation, the Coir Board introduced a range of cutting-edge machines designed for the efficient production of various coir products. The display aimed to raise public awareness through initiatives like Coir Hanging/Vertical Gardens and educational classes on sustainable and organic coir products, including Coir Compost, Coir Pith, Coir Woods, Coir Ply, and Coir Garden Articles. The focus on these eco-friendly alternatives is particularly relevant for effective pollution management, addressing the challenges faced by metropolitan cities.
As part of its ongoing efforts to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the underprivileged, the Coir Board launched an innovative digital human service, reinforcing its commitment to creating employment opportunities for the poorest sections of society engaged in the coir industry.
