Thiruvananthapuram |The Government of Kerala has appointed Advocate Anoop V. Nair as the new State Attorney of Kerala. The appointment was announced by Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan at a press conference held on Tuesday.
Advocate Nair succeeds Advocate N. Manojkumar and will be responsible for coordinating and managing litigation on behalf of the State Government before the Kerala High Court, working closely with the office of the Advocate General.
Based in Kochi, Advocate Anoop V. Nair brings more than 23 years of distinguished legal experience. Enrolled as an advocate in 2002, he has extensively practiced before various courts and tribunals across Kerala, including the Munsiff-Magistrate Court, Perumbavoor, and the High Court of Kerala.
A founding partner of ASM Attorneys, Advocate Nair has earned recognition for his expertise across a wide spectrum of legal domains, including civil and criminal litigation, constitutional writs, service law, company law, matters under the SARFAESI Act, and issues relating to the Panchayati Raj system.
His professional journey includes representing numerous Grama Panchayats and autonomous bodies before the Kerala High Court, reflecting his deep engagement with public administration and local self-governance.
Advocate Nair also served on the Legal Advisor Panel of the Guruvayur Devaswom Board, where he played a significant role in the amendment of staff service regulations, contributing to institutional reforms and governance enhancement.
In addition to his legal practice, he has been actively involved in the legal fraternity and served as the Secretary of the Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association in 2024.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen the State’s legal representation and litigation management framework, leveraging his extensive experience, professional integrity, and commitment to public service.
