Indore | Indore Municipal Corporation will present its budget of over Rs. 7500 crore on April 27, this time as an e-budget. A laptop will be kept between two councilors, and a soft copy of the budget will be made available to them in pen drives. The conference will be held at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Scheme 78, and there will be a system to view the budget on the LED screen. The budget includes 29 proposals approved by the Mayor's Council.
The corporation has prepared the budget for the upcoming elections, so no new taxes will be imposed. However, the rates of some charges, including colonizer license, may increase. There may also be a change in the rate zone of some colonies.
The budget will include provisions for Digital Indore, promoting sports, and making the office paperless. The rates of property tax and water tax will not change, but there may be changes regarding garbage collection from multi-storey buildings. The budget may also include approval for various proposals, such as the construction of an adarsh Yoga Center, conversion of garbage collection vehicles from diesel to electric, and laying of a sewer line for the purification of Kanh river.
Additionally, two to three major works may be approved in each assembly constituency, and there will be a provision for a sports festival in the budget.
