Bhopal |On the occasion of its 40th Anniversary, Bhopal’s premier socio-cultural organisation United Malayalee Association is showcasing an array of events spanning three days.

Beginning on Friday, the 7th June at 5.30 pm at Bittan Market Grounds, Bhopal will host a variety of Cultural Extravaganza depicting the rich cultural heritage of God’s Own Country. An array of Kerala’s rich Folk Dance forms like

THEYYAM

MAYOORA NRITHAM

ARJUNA NRITHAM

KUMMATTI

KARINKALI

ONATHAR

VATTAMUDI

This will be followed by the world famous Martial Art KALARIPPAYATTU by the martial arts team from Kerala.  

To top it all, the programs are lined up with Classical Dance Forms like Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi to Mohiniyattam by leading dance groups of Bhopal on all three days. Fusion Music and other variety songs also will mesmerize the audience.

More than 100 stalls showcasing Kerala Spices, ornaments, clothes, educational institutions, and builders are set up during the fest.

The culinary tastes of Bhopalites are in for a pleasant surprise by dishing out a variety of Kerala’s traditional authentic food basket. Numerous Kerala dishes will be served giving an imprint of the State.

The entrance to the Kerala Fest depicts heritage Kerala homes giving a princely look of olden days with the driveway projecting life and times of Kerala.

The organizers said that they have reached out to all in Bhopal to visit the event and get a first-hand experience of Kerala and its varied tapestry of life. O.D. Joseph, President, United Malayalee Association said that they have invited Hon’ble Governor, Chief Minister, Dy. CMs, Ministers, Bureaucrats, Corporate houses, Educational institutions, Builders and the cross section of the society to visit the three day event.

He further said that they received tremendous support seeing the variety of cultural programs and food stalls which offer a kaleidoscope of flavors, cultures, and experiences that delight attendees and create lasting memories.

The program will begin every day at 5.30 pm and end at 10.30 pm.   The Kerala Fest culminates on Sunday, the 9th June.
