Bhopal | District collector Avinash Lavania issued orders of registering case against those who leave their borewells open in Bhopal district. SDM and Tehsildars have been asked to survey and find open borewells. At the same time, notices will also be glued in police stations.

A seven-year-old boy had fallen into an open borewell at village Kherkhedi near Sironj in Vidisha district. He was taken out after 24 hours of rescue. However, the child failed to survive and died. After this, once again questions started arising regarding open borewells across the state.

Collector Lavania had requested the people to cover the borewell if it is open at their place. On Monday, he issued a new order.

Collector and District Magistrate Lavania has issued an order under section 144 asking to close unused and open borewells in the district with strong iron lids with nut bolts. It has been said in the order that such borewells in which the motor has not been inserted. If the borewell has not been sealed with a cap, then the Executive Magistrate of the concerned area should visit the area and ensure that the arrangement is done.

Collector Lavania has issued instructions that immediate action should be taken on this order. He has asked to put the order on the notice boards in all SDMs, revenue offices and police stations. Punishable action will be taken under section 188 for violation of the order issued above.
