Ask any traveller what slows a trip abroad, and language comes up quickly. Madhya Pradesh is trying to make that problem smaller at home. At MP Travel Mart 2026, the state tourism board signed an MoU with Explurger to deploy AI agents that give multilingual digital assistance, tourist guidance and storytelling at selected destinations. The plan: install 1,000 QR boards across 100 tourism destinations, phase by phase. Visitors scan a code and get a guide in their pocket.

The state also launched a multilingual version of its tourism website, adding German, Spanish, French and Japanese to English and Hindi, and a digital “MP Travel Handbook”, a dynamic coffee-table book with 360-degree views, VR links, AI storytelling and audio narration.

On the other hand, Kerala draws overseas visitors and tourists from across India, including many who do not read Malayalam or English fluently. Fort Kochi, Munnar, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram all carry layered histories that signboards rarely explain in full. A QR-and-AI approach could change that.
