

Kochi: India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) is gearing up for its flagship event in Kerala, the IIMUN Kochi Conference 2026, scheduled to take place at The Choice School from January 9th to 11th, 2026. Touted as the largest educational extravaganza of its kind, the conference will host over 600 students from 50 different schools, focused on cultivating future leaders through diplomacy, negotiation, and public-speaking skills.
About the Organisation:
IIMUN was founded in 2011 with the vision of uniting the world the "Indian way" by sensitizing tomorrow’s leaders today. Since its first conference in August 2012, the organization has seen over 5 crore students attend its events, with more than 30,000 schools participating nationwide and globally. Currently, a team of over 26,000 dedicated students helps organize these extensive conferences.
The organization's impact is evident in its alumni, who have gone on to become elected members of government, lawyers, authors, and business leaders. IIMUN is guided by an illustrious Advisory Board that includes Former Chiefs of Armed Forces—Gen. V.P. Malik, Admiral R.K. Dhowan, and ACM P.V. Naik—as well as Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Mr. Ajay Piramal, Ms. Shabana Azmi, A.R. Rahman, and P.T. Usha.
IIMUN executes its mission to spread the idea of India through diverse mediums, including 3-day concourses held in 220 cities across India and 35 countries, a monthly magazine, and various digital activities. The platform has attracted over 20,000 speakers, including Heads of Nations, Nobel Laureates, and global cinema icons.
Kochi Conference Highlights:
The three-day Kochi Conference will utilize the Model United Nations (MUN) format, where students from classes 5th to 12th will role-play various world leaders, debating complex global issues across 10 committees housed in 10 classrooms.
Day 1 (January 9th): The conference opens with the students wearing traditional attire. The Inaugural Ceremony will be held at 4 PM at The Choice School, Kochi.
Day 2 (January 10th): Students will switch to formal wear for the commencement of debate sessions. This day will feature simultaneous debates, involving moderated and unmoderated caucuses, followed by lunch and high tea. The evening will conclude with an engaging speaker series and a talent hunt, providing a platform for students to showcase their abilities.
Day 3 (January 11th): The debates conclude, leading to the Closing Ceremony at The Choice School, Kochi. Three winners will be declared from each committee based on comprehensive metrics including performance, speaking skills, diplomacy, and research prowess. The conference will culminate in the felicitation of the best school delegation with a prestigious trophy.
