Kolkata | Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday laid the foundation for a 2,000-bed hospital, which would be built by the conglomerate in New Town area near Kolkata.
Gautam Adani, along with his wife and Adani Foundation chairperson Priti Adani and son and Adani Ports managing director Karan Adani, and the CM performed 'bhumi pujan' for the Adani Arogya Mandir.
Later, the CM and Gautam Adani unveiled a plaque of the medical facility, which is coming up on 51 acres of land in Action Area 2 of New Town. Adhikari had earlier announced that half of the beds would be reserved for poor patients.
Earlier in the day, Gautam Adani offered prayers at the Kalighat Temple here. He would also hold meetings with Adhikari and industry representatives.
