Opener KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal were batting on 32 and 35 respectively.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was the only batter to be dismissed in the morning session when a mix-up with Rahul led to the former being run out. Jaiswal scored 32 off 37 balls with five fours.
Jaiswal and Rahul added 47 runs for the first wicket before the latter teamed up with Padikkal to consolidate for India, putting on an unbeaten 54 runs for the second wicket.
