Amaravati | Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday paid tributes to Telugu Desam Party founder N T Rama Rao on his 103rd birth anniversary.
The chief minister said that Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR, stood as a living example of the saying that with perseverance, human beings can become sages and great personalities.
"I pay tributes to the revered leader of Telugu people, the globally acclaimed legend and great personality, N T Rama Rao, on his 103rd birth anniversary," said Naidu in a post on X.
He noted that NTR, born on May 28, 1923, in Nimmakuru village of Krishna district, remains an unforgettable figure etched forever in the hearts of Telugu people.
Naidu highlighted that NTR left an indelible mark on the world of cinema through his iconic portrayals of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna and later emerged as a guiding star in politics.
He described the late leader as a modern social reformer who brought transformative changes to the lives of Telugu people. NTR was a legendary actor and former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
He is widely remembered for his contributions to Telugu cinema, welfare-oriented governance and his influence on Telugu identity and politics.
