Jaipur | Three persons were killed and five others injured after a fire broke out in a factory operated in a small house in Jaipur's Kho-Nagorian area on Tuesday, police said.

Locals claimed that it was a firecracker factory where labourers were working, while the police are conducting forensic examinations.

SMS Hospital superintendent Dr Mrinal Joshi said that three persons have died due to burn injuries.

Jaipur collector Sandesh Nayak visited the site and said that the fire was doused by fire brigades and the injured were taken to the hospital.

According to a local man, after hearing an explosion, people present nearby rushed to the house.

"We heard an explosion and rushed to the house. We managed to enter a portion of the house by throwing water and brought some persons out," he said.

Claiming that three of the rescued persons were burnt badly and probably had died before being rescued, he said two persons with burn injuries were lying and writhing on the road outside. They were rushed to hospital.

Two other persons with burn injuries were seen lying outside the house, he said.
