Chennai | Regular passenger-centric activities at the Chennai airport were affected on Friday, official sources said.

Handwritten boarding passes were issued to passengers and long queues were witnessed at the counters of airlines and similar was the situation at Tiruchirappalli airport.

A number of flights were delayed and the Chennai-Tiruchirappalli evening flight of an airline was cancelled.

'Server outage' was the reason for the disruption in routine activities, they said.

Airport and airline operations faced significant disruptions due to the Microsoft outage on Friday.
