Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao on his birth anniversary, and said he made enduring contributions to India's progress during a critical phase of the nation's history.

New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao on his birth anniversary, and said he made enduring contributions to India's progress during a critical phase of the nation's history.

Rao was born on June 28, 1921 and passed away on December 23, 2004. He served as prime minister from June 21, 1991 to May 16, 1996.

"Tributes to former Prime Minister Shri PV Narasimha Rao Ji on his birth anniversary. He made enduring contributions to India's progress during a critical phase of our nation's history," Modi said in a post on X.

The prime minister said Rao made a mark as an able administrator and was also a distinguished scholar, blessed with immense knowledge and understanding of India's diverse culture.
