Dehradun | Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday extended the invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest of the forthcoming global investor summit proposed to be held here in December.

Dhami, who met the PM in Delhi, said the prime minister's presence at the summit as the chief guest will make it successful.

The proposed summit is to be held in the second week of December, according to an official release.

The chief minister also apprised him of the progress being made by the state in the fields of start-ups, ease of doing business and boosting investments.

Dhami also sought the Centre's approval for the Kiccha-Khatima railway station project and requested the prime minister that its estimated total cost of Rs 1546 crore be borne by the Centre.

The chief minister also sought the clearance of a proposal to shift Dehradun's main railway station to Harrawala station which has been renovated and expanded.

There should be no ceiling on loans to be allocated for the implementation of externally aided projects, Dhami said.

The finance ministry has put a limit on loans to be given for externally aided projects to Rs 12,652 crore till 2025-26.

The limit has made it difficult for the state to send important proposals under externally aided projects to the Centre, he added.
