Coast Guard holds Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal 'Unity Run'

Kochi: In honor of India's 77th year of independence and as a testament to the Government of India's initiative to celebrate the essence of freedom and unity, the Indian Coast Guard orchestrated a series of "Jan Bhagidari" events. These events sought to ignite a sense of national pride, reflect on historical achievements, and envision a prosperous future for the nation.

As a pivotal event within the "Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal" festivities, the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters in Kerala and Mahe hosted the spectacular "Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal Unity Run" on August 20, 2023. The Unity Run was meticulously designed to instill a profound sense of pride and bolster national integration among the citizens of India.

Participants of diverse ages and backgrounds came together in a display of solidarity, exemplifying the essence of unity. Over 500 volunteers hailing from governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as students from various institutions including the Kochi City Police, Marine Police, District Tourism Promotion Council, District Administration, Indian Navy, Indian Customs, Cochin Shipyard Limited, Cochin Port Trust, NCC Army Wing, Indian Medical Association, and the Ex-Servicemen Organization, embraced the event with boundless enthusiasm.

The Unity Run commenced at 6:30 AM from the Durbar Hall Ground in Ernakulam. The ceremonial flag-off was conducted by Deputy Inspector General N Ravi, Commander of the Coast Guard District (Kerala & Mahe), in the presence of DIG R Ramesh TM. The route traversed through prominent landmarks in Kochi, including Durbar Hall, Park Avenue, Government Hospital, and Mahatma Gandhi Road, symbolizing the strength and solidarity of a collective identity. Beyond its unifying message, the event also aimed to inspire individuals to adapt their lifestyles in harmony with the environment.

As stated by the Public Relations Officer of the Coast Guard (Kerala & Mahe), this remarkable event echoed the aspirations of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal" celebrations, exemplifying the spirit of unity and patriotism that forms the foundation of India's journey.
