Thane ‘Muthappan Mahotsavam’ concluded by giving darshan to thousands of people

This year's festival attracted attention due to the large participation of people.

Thane | ‘Sri Mutthappan Thiruvappana Mahotsavam’ was conducted on 1st and 2nd February by Muthappan committee, Thane. The festival started on Feb 1, Saturday at 5:30 am with Ganapathi Homam. Muthappan Mahotsavam was staged for two days at Shanti Nagar Municipal School Ground, Thane West Wagle Estate.

Thane ‘Sri Muthappan Committee’ is one of the oldest Muthappan Committee in Mumbai itself. Thousands of people came from different parts of Mumbai on both the days to see Vellattam, Arulappad (commandment) and get darshan. 

‘Maha-prasadam’ (sacred food) was also distributed on both the days. The two-day function led by Prahladan, Rajan, Sathyan and other office bearers of the Muthappan Samiti. Eminent personalities from the political, social and cultural scene of Thane were honored at Muthappan Vellatam stage.

This year's festival attracted attention due to the large participation of people. On behalf of Sri Muthappan Samiti, Thane, the officials said that with the blessings of Muthappan and everyone's cooperation, it was possible to conduct and do all things beautifully, although the crowd of devotees is increasing every year.
