Srushti's ‘Poothana Moksham’ Kathakali Hindi rendition in Kalyan

When 'Poothana Moksham' was first performed in Dombivilli with kathakali words dubbed into Hindi, it received much praise from Malayalees and other language connoisseurs.

Kalyan | Kathakali 'Poothana Moksham' presented by 'Srushti', a Dombivilli-based cultural organization, will be performed at Ayyappakshethram venue, Kalyan East on Wednesday, December 25 at 7 pm. Presented with a Hindi translation of ‘Poothana Moksham Attakatha', is directed by renowned chenda artist Anil Podhuwal. Anil Podhuwal himself handles Chenda and Idaika in the background.

Popular kathakali artiste Tara Varma will portray Poothana on stage. The words were translated into Hindi by Dr. Sangeeta Podhuwal. Madhalam and costume design by RLV Mithun Murali, Vocals - Nedumbally Krishnamohan, Arjun Warrier and Master Siddharth Prasad, Concept: Unni Ravimandir Vellinezhi.

Meanwhile, Tara Varma, the leading kathakali artist, is excited and happy to be performing in Hindi for the second time.

"This is the second time Kathakali is being presented in Hindi. For the first time, a lot of support was received from various quarters, never expected it. All the artists were better than each other and collaborated well, it was a great experience and I am still confident about it," said Tara Varma.
