Raigad | The 2024 Malayalam Mission Praveshnotsavam was organized by the Pen Municipality at Vachanala in Konkan region on August 11. The event, which commenced under the chairmanship of Pen Malayalee Samajam president Shibukumar CK, expressed heartfelt condolences over the Wayanad tragedy.

It was attended by Malayalam Mission Konkan region president Sam Varghese, regional secretary KT Ramakrishnan, zonal coordinator Sajini Surendran, Pen Malayalee Samajam secretary V Sahadevan, parent committee president Shibu Mathew and secretary Sumesh T Sreedharan, among others.

In light of the Wayanad tragedy, the entrance festival was intentionally kept simple. The students of the Malayalam Mission, along with the expatriate community, became proud participants in the noble initiative "One Dollar for Wayanad." Together, they gathered contributions and handed over the collected funds to Shibu Kumar, Sam Varghese and Ramakrishnan.

Despite the absence of the usual festive grandeur, the teachers infused the sweetness of learning their mother tongue into the hearts of the students. This was savoured by all, leaving a joy that transcended the need for celebration.
