A YouTuber was arrested again for allegedly posting defamatory social media content targeting a woman Congress leader, police said

Pathanamthitta (Kerala) | A YouTuber was arrested again for allegedly posting defamatory social media content targeting a woman Congress leader, police said on Friday.

Rajan Joseph was arrested by the Adoor police on Thursday after he allegedly uploaded fresh defamatory videos against Sreena Devi Kunjamma, a Pathanamthitta district panchayat member.

Joseph was first arrested in Kochi last week and was later released on bail.

As part of the bail conditions, he was directed not to commit a similar offence by targeting the complainant again.

However, police said that on the very day he was released on bail, a fresh video targeting Kunjamma was uploaded and circulated through a YouTube channel.

After the video came to the notice of the police, a fresh case was registered against Joseph and Sibi, who also appeared in the video, officials said.

Police arrested Joseph from Kochi on Thursday night and brought him to the Adoor police station, officials said.

Efforts are on to trace and arrest co-accused Sibi, police added.

Kunjamma, a former CPI leader who joined the Congress last year, was elected to the Pathanamthitta district panchayat in the local body elections.

She alleged that Joseph had uploaded more than 20 videos targeting her since her days in the CPI and had similarly posted content against several other politicians, including Left leaders.
