Thiruvananthapuram/Kollam | The Youth Congress (YC) activists on Friday held a protest march to the head post office in Kollam in support of the CJP and student agitation in Delhi regarding the alleged irregularities in the NEET and various other exams held at the national-level.

At the same time, activists of the Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the BJP, marched to the Cliff House -- the official residence of the Chief Minister -- in the state capital, accusing him of "double standards" by not intervening in the PSC appointment issue.

The activists of the Congress' youth wing shouted slogans against the central government and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

They also climbed on top of the barricades set up by the police to prevent them from reaching the post office, according to visuals on TV channels.

Later, the YC activists climbed over the barricades, entered the post office compound and protested outside its main doors.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the Yuva Morcha protestors were stopped near the Devaswom Board junction in the state capital by barricades put up by the police.

Hundreds of Yuva Morcha activists who gathered there faced several rounds of water cannons from the police as they shouted slogans against the Congress and Rahul Gandhi over their involvement in the protest held in Delhi by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) against the central government.

They alleged that Chief Minister V D Satheesan took part in the protest in Delhi, but was doing nothing to address the issues regarding appointments carried out by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The Yuva Morcha also held placards of Satheesan's pictures carrying slogans accusing him of double standards.

The CPI(M)'s student organisation, Students Federation of India (SFI), on Thursday held protests across Kerala, including holding a march to the Lok Bhavan, in support of the CJP agitation in Delhi.
