Woman found murdered at Kozhikode; police search for husband

A 56-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence near here on Saturday, with police searching for her husband

Kozhikode (Kerala) | A 56-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence near here on Saturday, with police searching for her husband, officials said.

Sudha, a native of Poyilkavu in Edakkulam near Koyilandy was found murdered, and her husband, Kuttikrishnan, was being searched, police said.

According to investigators, Sudha worked as a domestic worker in the locality, while Kuttikrishnan was engaged in tree-cutting work.

Neighbours found Sudha in a pool of blood with severe injuries to her neck at her house at around 9.50 am, and informed police and her daughter, officials said.

Police personnel soon reached the spot and began an investigation. Officials said repeated attempts to contact Kuttikrishnan were unsuccessful.

His mobile phone was switched off, and efforts are underway to trace him with the assistance of the cyber police, they said.

Koyilandy Police have registered a murder case and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem. Police said the exact circumstances leading to the death and the motive would become clear only after Kuttikrishnan is traced and questioned.
