Vijayan urges CM to take immediate steps to bring home Kerala worker killed in Qatar blast

Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, Pinarayi Vijayan, on Wednesday wrote to Chief Minister V D Satheesan, urging him to take immediate steps to bring back the body of Arjun, a Keralite who was killed in an explosion at an industrial facility in Qatar.

In his letter, Vijayan requested the chief minister to coordinate with officials at the Indian Embassy in Qatar and ensure that all necessary procedures are completed without delay so that Arjun's body can be repatriated to his family.

Arjun, a resident of Thooneri in Kozhikode district, was working at the Barzan gas distribution facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

The fatal explosion occurred on Sunday night, but his relatives were informed of the tragedy only on Monday.

At least 13 people, including Indians, were killed in the explosion.
