Two youth killed after scooter collides with tipper lorry in Kerala's Mavelikara

Two youngsters died after the scooter they were travelling on collided with a tipper lorry here on Monday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Manav Madhu (19) and Adithyan (16), both natives of Budhanoor in Alappuzha district.

According to police, the accident occurred at around 1.45 am when the scooter collided with a tipper lorry at Mitchel Junction in Mavelikara.

Police said both Madhu and Adithyan were thrown onto the road and sustained serious head injuries.

Madhu was rushed to Mavelikara Government Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Adithyan was shifted to a private hospital in Parumala in Pathanamthitta district, where he died at around 6.30 am.

Mavelikara police have registered a case against the tipper lorry driver and initiated an investigation.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after the postmortem examination.
