At least three people were killed and several injured after a tipper lorry carrying soil lost control and crashed into a bus stop in this district on Tuesday morning, police said.

Kollam (Kerala) | At least three people were killed and several injured after a tipper lorry carrying soil lost control and crashed into a bus stop in this district on Tuesday morning, police said.

The accident occurred at Neeleswaram in Kottarakkara.

The impact caused the soil carried by the lorry to spill onto people waiting at the bus stop, burying several of them under the heap.

According to preliminary information, at least three people were killed in the accident, a police officer said.

Efforts are underway to determine whether anyone is still buried beneath the soil, police said.
