Kochi | Three youths were allegedly assaulted and their heads shaved by around six men a day ago at Perumbavoor here by accusing them of being drug traffickers, police said on Thursday.

Police said an FIR under sections 126 (wrongful restraint), 127 (wrongful confinement), 296(b)(obscene acts and utterances),115(2)(voluntarily causing hurt),133(assaulting to dishonor),189(unlawful assembly),191(2)(rioting) and 190 (common object of unlawful assembly) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against six identifiable persons.

According to the youths, all aged between 18 and 21 years, the six men allegedly stopped and restrained them without any reason, accused them of being drug traffickers, made obscene remarks against them and assaulted them.

Thereafter, the youths were made to kneel down and a barber from a nearby hair saloon was made to shave their heads, according to the FIR lodged on Thursday.

Police said an investigation has been launched and a search is on for the accused
